Established in 1986, Cat Ba National Park covers more than 17,000 hectares of forests, mountains, caves, and marine ecosystems.   • Entrance fee: Approximately 80,000 VND per person

The park protects one of Vietnam's richest ecosystems and has been recognized by UNESCO as part of the Cat Ba Archipelago Biosphere Reserve.

How to get there?

The national park is about 15 km from Cat Ba Town. Visitors can easily reach the entrance by taxi, motorbike, bicycle, or as part of organized tours from Lan Ha Bay cruises.

What to do in Cat Ba National Park?

Popular activities include hiking to Ngu Lam Peak, birdwatching, cave exploration, wildlife photography, and discovering the park's unique biodiversity. Several trails range from easy walks to more challenging treks lasting several hours.

History of Cat Ba National Park

The park was officially established in 1986 to protect Cat Ba Island's unique ecosystems. Today it remains one of Vietnam's most important conservation areas and supports many endangered species, including the critically endangered Cat Ba Langur.
