Located in the heart of Halong Bay, Ti Top Island is one of the most famous destinations in the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Known for its crescent-shaped beach and 360-degree views from its peak, Ti Top Island offers travelers an unforgettable experience of both natural beauty and tranquility. Whether you want to swim, sunbathe, or climb to the top for a stunning view of the bay, Ti Top is an unmissable stop on any Halong Bay cruise.
Ti Top Island sits near Bo Hon Island and Sung Sot Cave, making it a convenient and popular stop for day cruises and overnight tours alike. The island is relatively small but incredibly scenic, with clear turquoise water, clean white sand, and a peaceful atmosphere — perfect for swimming, kayaking, or simply relaxing on the beach.
You can only reach Ti Top Island by boat as part of a Halong Bay cruise. Most 4-hour, 6-hour, or overnight cruises include it in their itinerary. Departing from Tuan Chau or Bai Chay Port, you’ll sail through the bay for about 30–45 minutes before docking near the island.
*Tip: Bring sunscreen, swimwear, and a camera — the climb to the summit offers one of the most photogenic views in all of Halong Bay.*
Ti Top Island was named after the Russian cosmonaut Gherman Titov, who visited the island with President Ho Chi Minh in 1962. To commemorate their friendship and this historic visit, the island was given the name “Ti Top.” Over the years, it has become a symbol of Vietnam–Russia relations and a top attraction for domestic and international travelers alike.
Ti Top Island is more than just a stop on the cruise — it’s the perfect balance between leisure and adventure. The island’s panoramic viewpoint is often considered the best in Halong Bay, while the beach offers a refreshing escape from the busy boat decks. Its manageable hike, beautiful scenery, and calm waters make it suitable for travelers of all ages.
Whether you’re exploring the cave systems of Halong or seeking a quiet spot to unwind, Ti Top Island offers a picture-perfect experience that captures the very essence of Halong Bay’s natural charm.
