This full-day cycling tour takes you from Hanoi into the tranquil countryside of the Red River Delta, where ancient spiritual sites and traditional handicraft villages still preserve their authentic charm. Cycling through rice paddies and rural villages, you will visit the historic But Thap Pagoda and the famous Dong Ho Folk Painting Village, gaining deep insight into Vietnam’s cultural heritage and daily local life.
You will be picked up at your hotel at 7.30.a.m to begin your adventure by pedaling from your hotel to the other side of the Red River.
Next, you will cycle through peaceful countryside to observe green rice paddy fields and meet hospitable people.
Upon your arrival in But Thap Pagoda, you can visit 100 compartments and 10 buildings covering a total area of 100 meters from the gate of three entrances to the bell-tower and back house.
But Thap is recognized as one of the country’s most important cultural relics. The pagoda was built under the dynasty of King Tran Thanh Tong (1258-1278), and rebuilt in 1647 in the Le Dynasty by the Chinese Zen Buddhist priest ZhusZhus (ChuyetChuyet in Vietnamese).
Around 12:00: You will have time for lunch at a local restaurant or in a local family.
After lunch, around 2.p.m, you will resume your ride to Dong Ho handicraft village, which is really famous for its traditional wooden block printing. Although, now there are only 3 families involved in this painstaking craft while the rest of the village has changed into a more profitable pursuit.
Once coming to this village, you can pay a visit to the house of the craftsman Nguyen Dang Che, who is famous throughout the country for his traditional paintings and to know the way he makes wooden block paintings. And then, you will continue exploring the village by bike, and discover villagers making other paper crafts.
Finally, you will go back to your hotel. The trip ends around 4 pm

Yes. The cycling pace is relaxed and suitable for travelers with basic fitness. The route is mostly flat and follows quiet countryside roads.
The total cycling distance is approximately 35–40 km, including multiple stops for sightseeing, rest, and lunch.
Comfortable clothing, sports shoes, sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, and a camera are recommended. A small backpack is useful for personal items.
Yes. You will meet local villagers, visit a traditional craftsman’s house in Dong Ho Village, and learn directly from artisans about folk painting techniques.
In case of bad weather or fatigue, the support vehicle is available to assist or transfer you for part of the journey.
